25 Interview Questions to Answer

Before attending an interview the following questions and questions must be thought about and practiced.

  1. Why do you want this job?
    • Stress the positive and attractive aspects of the position. Do not mention the negative aspects of your current job or the vacancy in discussion.

  2. Tell me about yourself.
     Choose a couple of points regarding your professional experience and career goals and stick to those points. Conclude by mentioning your desire to be a part of the actual Company.

  3. What can you contribute to the actual Company?

Refer to your achievements in your previous position(s) which are relevant to the new position you are applying for.

  1. What qualities do you think will be required for this job?

Refer to the job description and the advertisement of the actual vacancy. Think also of the other qualities that may be required. These may include abilities like communication skills, leadership, supervisory skills, interpersonal and problem solving skills, etc.

  1. What is your knowledge of the actual Company?

Mention the Company’s general goodwill and describe their products/services, sales figures, news, company figures, customers, etc.

  1. Why do you want to work for the actual Company?

Emphasise the positive reasons why you want to join their company. Avoid mentioning salary and shorter hours.

  1. What can the actual Company offer that your previous Company did not offer?

Mention opportunities for personal growth, new challenges, etc. Do not point out salary.

  1. What interests you about our product (or service)?

Find some technical information about their product(s) in general and its strength and what you can contribute to its success.

  1. How long do you think it would be before you were making a significant contribution to the team/company?

Make a short and long term planning. In return, ask the interviewer how soon would they expect it.

  1. You have not done this sort of job before. How will you succeed with the new challenge?

Defend that that, as an ambitious person, you aim to succeed at everything you do and that your determination is the key success to get the job done.

  1. Why should we employ you?

Define all the good qualities relative to your professional experience and personal skills.

  1. What do you like and dislike about the actual vacancy in question?

Stress characteristics such as a new challenge or the opportunity to contribute to the success of the Company. Do not mention anything you dislike in the job in question.

  1. How ambitious are you?

Mention that your objective is to contribute to the success of the Company and to develop as a person within the Company.

  1. Why are you changing the path of your career?

Always define the positive aspects of the new career rather than the negative aspects of your previous career. Stress the good points of the new career.

  1. Why did you choose that particular career?

Give positive reasons about your choice. If you have changed careers a number of times, make a logical argument about it.

  1. How much does your last job resemble the one you are applying for? What are the differences?

The interviewer is trying to check how well you would fit in to the position you are applying for. So you should stress the similarities rather than the differences.

  1. What do you think of the last Company you worked for?

Stress only the positive aspects of your last Company. Describe briefly the professional and personal experiences you gained there.

  1. Why are you leaving now your last Company?

Always be positive about your reasons for joining and leaving a Company. Stress that you are looking for a new challenge and that the actual Company fits your professional experience and personality.

  1. Why do you want to work here?
    Demonstrate how your experience and qualifications match the actual Company's needs.

  2. Why should we hire you?
    Describe briefly that your strengths and qualifications are unique to you.

  3. What are your greatest weaknesses?
    Be honest about a weakness you know you having. However, demonstrate how you have turned it into strength.

  4. What are your strengths?
    Describe three or four of your strengths relative to the actual position and give some examples when they have helped you in your professional path.

  5. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
    A
    ccomplishment must be related to the actual position. Think of the qualities the Company is searching develop an example that demonstrates how you can meet the Company's needs.

  6. Why have you had so many jobs?
     Give reasons like changes in professional goals, frequent moves, etc and that you're are available for the actual position.

  7. What are your short-term and long-term goals?
    Mention that your short-term goals involve getting hired into the right position and that your long term objectives are to specialise yourself in your profession.
