- Before leaving your current residence please make sure to end legally all contracts regarding your present service providers (water, housing, gas, telephone, internet, TV, etc). For those relocating on a long-term basis it would be advisable to terminate all contracts/accounts concerning your bank(s) and insurance(s).
- Visit your professional advisor(s)s in the concerned sector(s) so as to clarify whether or not you could maintain and benefit from your subscriptions being in another country.
- Inform your town hall or police station the tax administration your intention to leave the country.
- Where necessary, change your postal address with all institutions or entities you usually deal with in your daily life.
- Contact the relevant taxation authorities in your current country in order to ask for information and advice on tax declaration and formalities you should comply with before leaving your country of origin
- Obtain information on possible bilateral agreements to avoid double taxation between your EU country of origin and the EU country where you are planning to live.
- Notify them that you are leaving and, if possible, give your new address in the host country.
